Coffee Vending Machines Make Sound Business Sense
I’ve been supplying vending machines to businesses all over the country for several years now, and have spoken with many business owners about their reasons for wanting a machine in the first place. One thing they always tell me is that having a coffee machine on site is great for boosting productivity.
The owners and managers always tell me how delighted they are with the positive effects of installing a coffee machine. As well as their employees being pleased they can get a cup of coffee at any time of day, it seems the reviving effects of the drink (possibly a result of the caffeine?) lead to improved productivity over the course of the day.
So the idea to get a coffee machine has always been based on sound business principles, as well as being a nice thing for the staff to be able to benefit from. Each of the business people I’ve spoken to has praised the business benefits of the machines.
Once it’s clear that there are going to be business benefits from having a vending machine on their premises, I need to work out which machine will be best suited to their needs. So I start by finding out some basic info about the way the machine will be used.
The first thing I’ll want to find out is how many people are going to be using the machine. Experience over the years has taught me that an average usage figure per day is 3 times, so I can then multiply the number of people using the machine by 3.
One recent example is from a meeting with an engineering firm. They had 25 people on site who would be using the machine each day. So my estimate for daily usage was 25 x 3 = 75 uses of the machine each day for this firm.
Some coffee vending machines are not suitable for this level of use per day, so I knew I’d be recommending one of a few types of machine that I know would be useful for them. From that point, I also knew what level of service they’d require, and roughly how many refills we should be supplying each month.
There are other options for having the machine on your business premises, of course, with the possibility of buying a machine outright or leasing a machine with a full service agreement. Most people opt for the leasing option, but either way, they’re always happy with the increased productivity they get from having a coffee machine in their building.
